SSRLabs - Open Source Software Links

We know that our coprocessors will be used with some Free and Open Source Software such as Hadoop, but also with other software that would be considered Middleware. We have not tested or proven interoperability yet, but our goal is that with simple APIs those applications will work with our coprocessors. We will at a later point in time add a section that points to Open Source Software that is known and tested to interoperate with our coprocessors and APIs. Please be reminded that even though we may point to a particular piece of software or a web site that we do not have control over it or its contents, and that crosslinking does not mean that we endorse it or guarantee its fitness for a particular purpose.

Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Links

Here is a selection of Open Source Software that we know very likely will be used with our coprocessors, and for which we have been asked to provide APIs. As stated above, these are not yet proven to work with our coprocessors and APIs. SSRLabs uses Open Source Software internally.

  • Apache Hadoop
  • Apache Cassandra
  • The following is a list of applications that we use internally, either in a production environment or for development purposes.

  • Eclipse
  • LLVM
  • MySQL
  • Sourceforge HyperSQL
  • Apache Subversion
  • Bugzilla
  • Sourceforge osFinancials Accounting
  • Pentaho Business Analytics
  • PIWIK Web Analytics
  • LibreOffice
  • For Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that can't use MS Office due to heterogeneous client computer environments and that don't trust the cloud (Google Docs etc.) there is always the Open Source alternative Libre Office. SSRLabs uses LibreOffice and has found it to be very capable. We are contributing to the project in a meaningful manner. PIWIK works well and allows web analytics without having to resort to Google Analytics. While there is technically nothing wrong with Google Analytics using it means that Google knows more about your web site and traffic than you'll ever know.
